Cam Newtown just announced that he will be launching his first food truck on Sept. 18 for the Panther’s home opener against the San Francisco 49ers.
In an interview with Morgan Fogarty, Cam talked about how he loved going to “Food Truck Friday’’ in South End and has been tossing around the idea of starting his own truck for some time.
His new truck features the iconic Superman pose, painted by the renowned California-based artist Mark Paul Deren;
The truck will be called “Smokn’ Aces,’’ after Cam’s nickname – Ace Boogie.
The truck will be parked in the Goodyear Arts lot by the Duke Energy Building Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, with all of the proceeds from the first week going toward a program for at-risk individuals in Charlotte.
Newton also noted that he won’t be inside the truck – he’d rather stay outside eating. “I wanted to be closer to the people,’’ Newton said.
Cam chose to hire Mark Paul Deren to paint his first food truck after seeing his incredible work of other celebrities including Shaq;
Scott Pippen;
Jada Pinckett Smith;
And even Elvis;
