Welcome to the Queen City Charlotte, North Carolina. If you live here for a while you may be familiar with some of these places and can attest to the fun filled attractions this city has to offer. However, if you are new to the city or looking to vacation here, then it can get overwhelming planning your itinerary. There is so much to do in the city! Museums:

NASCAR Hall of Fame is one of the most famous, popular, and fun attractions. It is in prime location – Uptown Charlotte, North Carolina. It is an enjoyable way to spend your day indoors with all the interactive things they offer, including live race simulators throughout which are great for kids and adults. It is also educational, and you get to learn about the history of many famous movies. Definity a must see.

Another great museum is Discovery Place Science – an exciting and hands-on place for kids and adults alike. They offer many exhibits so you will be sure to find something for everybody. They inspire and encourage thinking and help you discover many wonders about science and nature. It has many labs and live shows. It’s definitely worth it to spend a day there.

Shopping Malls:

Try planning a Scavenger Hunt in one of the local malls. If you are the type that likes competition, then get your family split up into two teams for some added fun and adventure. One most of the wonderful malls that the city has to offer is the Northlake Mall. It is a modern mall with plenty of stores and boutiques. A great plus is the amazing food court! Be sure to wear comfortable shoes there.

Concord Mills is also a great place. It is North Carolina’s larges outlet mall and has over 200 stores! It has everything you need under one roof. 

Outdoor Parks:

The average weather temperature is around 60 degrees Fahrenheit, which is a really nice temperature to spend the day outdoors in. Nurses and healthcare workers especially now take advantage and go out to relax and meditate in some of the city’s beautiful parks with their families. They find it relaxing, getting a break from their scrub sets and men’s nursing shoes and replacing them with a tee and slides. 

A picnic in Freedom Park may just be the best way to please everyone on a day you just want to relax and while letting out your kids energy. Bring a ball, kite, and jump rope and have a great time. It is in the Dilworth neighborhood and is absolutely breathtaking. They also have bikes you can rent which is just awesome. 

First Ward Park will become an instant favorite. It offers a free splash pad and big jungle gym areas! They have bathrooms, and the whole place is very clean. What more can you ask for?! Many people love coming here just to relax and spend quality time with their family. 

North Carolina Zoo:

This 2,600 acre zoo is a common family favorite. It features over 1,800 animals. During the months of April through October, they have many other experiences for all ages, from Air Hike Ropes Course to Zoofari. Year-round, you can enjoy their hiking trails, and an adorable Gorilla Playscape which features massive logs to play with.
