A parked car and what police described as a very noticeable smell of marijuana led Huntersville officers to a sizable drug bust this week.
According to Huntersville Police Department, officers spotted a suspicious Nissan Sentra around 10:39 p.m. Tuesday along Shive Drive near Maruti Avenue and Statesville Road.
While speaking with the driver, officers reportedly detected a strong odor of marijuana and called in K-9 Echo to assist.
Huntersville Police say the investigation uncovered roughly 2.4 pounds of suspected marijuana along with drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle.
The driver, 32-year-old Blake Javon Summers, was arrested and charged with:
- Felony possession of marijuana
- Possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana
- Felony maintaining a vehicle or dwelling for a controlled substance
- Possession of marijuana paraphernalia
Police said the arrest is part of continued efforts to target illegal drug activity in the Huntersville area.
