An Atlanta resident is now the owner of one of the most sought-after homes in the Charlotte region. Eileen Reimer of Atlanta has been named the winner of the HGTV Dream Home 2026, a prize package valued at more than $2.4 million.
The winning home sits on Lake Wylie just outside Charlotte. It includes a fully furnished waterfront property plus $100,000 in cash.
HGTV designer Brian Patrick Flynn surprised Reimer during a family lunch by presenting her with keys engraved “Eileen’s lakehouse.” Moments later, he confirmed she had officially won, prompting an emotional celebration among her extended family.
“Lake Wylie gets us four hours closer to them,” she said in a press release. “This was meant to be; it wouldn’t have happened if it wasn’t supposed to.”
The newly built home spans about 3,000 square feet and sits on a secluded peninsula. It features three bedrooms, three-and-a-half bathrooms, and expansive lake views.
The property was constructed by Knotts Builders and designed by Flynn, known for his modern, coastal-inspired style.
For the Charlotte region, the win shines a national spotlight on Lake Wylie, a growing destination for waterfront living just outside the city.
