Another tragic shooting just took place inside Gastonia’s Eastridge Mall this afternoon.
According to police, at around 12pm, numerous shots were fired inside the food court of the mall. At least 3 people were shot and at least 1 suspect is thought to have fled into a nearby tree line.
UPDATE: GPD continues to work to clear the mall. Family members of shoppers/ employees who are coming to mall looking for loved ones are asked to go to the parking lot of Luck Samurai at 116 N New Hope Rd

The 3 people who were shot have all been taken to a nearby hospital.
Police are currently searching for the suspect who fled and are now interviewing witnesses to determine if there was more than 1 suspect.
