Every Saturday from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Smelly Cat Coffeehouse, at 514 E. 36th Street, hosts a comedy open mic. Even if you’ve never performed before you’re welcome to give it a try. No judgment, no fear. If you do have a little fear, beer and wine is available for sale to calm the nerves. Free event.

#3 Cabarrus Regional Alpaca Celebration

Alpaca Celebration is free to the public and takes place at the Cabarrus Arena and Events Center Saturday, February 13th, 2016, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, February 14th, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Over 600 alpacas are registered from all over the country participating in the Halter Show. An assortment of educational seminars and classes are available to the public for their enjoyment. Other activities include a Public Welcome Center with Children’s Activities, Photo Contest, Silent Auction, Fiber Arts and Skein Contests, Spin-off Contest, Fiber Arts Demonstrations, and plenty of vendors with gifts for that special someone. There’s a charge for parking.
