Sustain Charlotte Hosting Virtual Conversation on Re-envisioning Streets

On July 9 at 5 pm, Sustain Charlotte will host a free virtual conversation on Re-envisioning Streets as Equitable Public Spaces. What if public streets could do more than just moving and parking cars? What if they could become vibrant public places with room for people to walk, bike, dine, and celebrate equity? Join us as we talk with city leaders about how Charlotte’s streets are being transformed in creative ways including Shared Streets, the Outdoor Dining Program, the Black Lives Matter street mural and pedestrian plaza — and what might lie ahead! Speakers include Taiwo Jaiyeoba, Assistant City Manager and Planning Director, and Julie Eiselt, City Council Member At Large. Participants can register here

This event is part of Sustain Charlotte’s Grow Smart CLT event series. Launched in 2018, these fun yet informative events explore the multiple challenges that Charlotte faces due to our rapid increase in population and how these can be overcome through smarter growth. These fun yet informative events explore the multiple challenges that Charlotte faces due to our rapid increase in population and how these can be overcome through smarter growth.
