South Carolina Among Top U.S. State in Search for Remote Work

According to a new report that delved into remote job search volumes of 2023, South Carolina has been found to be one of the most engaged in seeking remote employment.

By examining the number of remote job searches across all 50 states, the study focused on the top 10 states with the highest number of searches per 1000 individuals. Additionally, it identified and ranked the professions with the greatest search volume, listing the states in descending order from the most to the least. The population was divided by the total number of searches, and the result was multiplied by 1,000 to determine the average number of searches per 1,000 residents in each state.

With 31,000 searches, South Carolina is the ninth on the list of states with the highest number of remote job searches. In South Carolina, 6 out of 1,000 people are searching for remote jobs. The top job searches are for virtual assistance, data entry, and customer service.

Texas tops the list as the state with the highest number of remote job searches, with an outstanding 167,000 searches. About 55 out of every 1,000 Texans are looking for remote jobs. Data entry is the most desirable job, with customer service and virtual assistance not far behind.

Florida is a close second with 124,000 searches. Just like in Texas, 55 out of 1,000 Floridians are searching for remote jobs. Virtual assistance tops the list of popular jobs here, followed by customer service and marketing.

Georgia is third on the list with 96,500 searches. However, only 9 out of 1,000 Georgians are searching for remote jobs. The top job picks are data entry, virtual assistance, and customer service.

Virginia ranks fourth with 52,000 searches. In Virginia, 6 out of 1,000 people are searching for remote jobs. The most searched professions are data entry, virtual assistance, and customer service.

Michigan rounds out the top five with 45,000 searches. Only 4 out of 1,000 people in Michigan are searching for remote jobs. The most sought-after profession is virtual assistance, followed by customer service and accounting.

Arizona is sixth on the list of the states with the highest number of remote job searches, with 43,000 searches. In Arizona, 6 out of 1,000 people are searching for remote jobs. Data entry, virtual assistance, and customer service are the most popular professions here.

Maryland is the seventh on the list and has 37,000 searches. Just like in Arizona, 6 out of every 1,000 Marylanders are interested in remote jobs. The most searched professions are data entry, virtual assistance, and customer service.

Washington is eighth on the list with 33,500 searches. In Washington, 4 out of 1,000 people are looking for remote jobs. The top job picks are data entry, virtual assistance, and accounting.

Delaware is closing the list of the top 10 states with the highest number of remote job searches. With 6,000 searches, 6 out of 1,000 people in Delaware still search for remote jobs. The most popular jobs are virtual assistance, customer service, and data entry.

Overall, “Virtual Assistant” and “Data Entry” are the most searched professions among remote job seekers in the top 10 states. “Virtual Assistant” appears in the top three professions in 10 out of the 10 states, and “Data Entry” appears in the top three professions in 8 out of the 10 states.
