This week, Rock Hill will host the national championships of professional disc golf with over $100,000 in prize money.
The 2022 United States Disc Golf Championship is set to return to Winthrop University for the 24th consecutive year on October 6-9. Often referred to as the “Superbowl” of Disc Golf, the USDGC is expected to bring in millions of dollars to York County through tourism, lodging, shopping, and dining this week.
Over the past decade, the Charlotte region has grown to become the nation’s biggest hubs for the new sport. Users on both Reddit’s Disc Golf Sub and DGCourseReview.com widely consider the Charlotte region to be the best city for the sport.
The Charlotte Disc Golf Club (CDGC) currently has over 200 official members and thousands more play on a regular basis on our 17 (and growing) public courses around the city.
This week’s games will be held at Winthrop’s world-renown coarse (1162 Eden Terrace, Rock Hill).
Day Pass and VIP Spectator Passes to this week’s National Championships are still available for sale on the USDGC website here, or watch it live on YouTube here.
