Another airplane crashed in North Carolina near the Oak Island Pier in the Outer Banks.
According to an official press release, the pilot, the only person onboard, was quickly rescued by Oak Island’s beach safety team, who were already nearby responding to a separate water rescue. The pilot was treated onshore for non-life-threatening injuries.
Witnesses, including a Koko Cabana employee, initially mistook the aircraft for a water plane.
