Over 200,000 Lbs of Spam Recalled After Metal Pieces Found Embedded in ‘Meat’

Over 220,000 lbs of America’s favorite canned ham has just been recalled after metal pieces were discovered embedded in the “meat”.

According to the USDA’s official recall, there have been several reports of minor oral injuries associated with consumption of the affect cans of Classic Spam.

The following products, February 8 through February 10, 2018, are subject to recall:  (View Labels)

  • 12-oz. metal cans containing “SPAM Classic” with a “Best By” February 2021 date and production codes: F020881, F020882, F020883, F020884, F020885, F020886, F020887, F020888 and F020889. These products were shipped throughout the United States.
  • 12-oz. metal cans containing “Hormel Foods Black-Label Luncheon Loaf” with a “Best By” February 2021 date and production codes F02098 and F02108.

Officials are urging consumers to throw away or return all recalled cans. Hormel consumer response can be contacted at 800-523-4635.
