The North Carolina Council on Developmental Disabilities (NCCDD) has opened a request for applications for Summer Mini Grants to fund a diverse array of short-term activities or build capacity to enable individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) to live full and meaningful lives in the community.

The mini grants could support the following types of activities that address the NCCDD’s Five-Year State Plan Goals and Objectives such as trainings, events/programs, and written materials. The deadline to apply is May 31, 2022 by 5pm EDT.

The Council will be hosting a Q&A session on May 24, 2022 at 1pm via Zoom to learn more about the grants and application process. Interested parties can register for the session via Zoom.

The RFA fits within NCCDD’s Five-Year State Plan which outlines goals, objectives and specific activities to bring about change for individuals with I/DD and their families, working to achieve these three main goals:

  • Goal 1: By 2026, increase financial security through asset development for individuals with I/DD.

  • Goal 2, By 2026, increase community living for individuals with I/DD.

  • Goal 3, By 2026, increase advocacy for individuals with I/DD.
