NC Disabilities Council Seeks Public Input on Five Year State Plan

154

The North Carolina Council on Developmental Disabilities (NCCDD) is seeking public comment on its new proposed goals and objectives for the Council’s 2022-2026 Five-Year State Plan.

The goals and objectives address increasing financial security, community living and advocacy for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) throughout the State of North Carolina.  They reflect input received from the North Carolina community gathered through nine public listening sessions and an online community survey over the past year.

To provide input, the Council encourages individuals with I/DD, family members, professionals and community stakeholders to review the Five-Year State Plan draft and complete a short online survey. The draft and survey are also available in Spanish.

The public comment will be open from March 1, 2021 and will continue receiving input through April 14, 2021 (11:59 pm).

Upon completion, the Five-Year Plan will be drafted and submitted for adoption to the 40-member Council in May 2021 and will then be submitted to Office of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (OIDD) for approval. The new plan will take effect on October 1, 2021.
