A major wildfire is now spreading across North Carolina’s famed Pilot Mountain and its surrounding state park. It’s now burned several hundred acres and shows no signs of slowing down.
The fire was first discovered on Saturday afternoon from an unknown source.
As of this morning, the fire has already consumed over 300 acres of dry forest and officials are now saying it could burn up to 600 more acres before firefighters will be able to stop or contain it.
