One Charlotte-area school district has gotten so desperate for bus drivers that they’re now offering them over $20 an hour to help transport students.

This week the Lancaster School District announced a 16% increase in pay for bus drivers in Indian Land to help fill badly needed shortages. The school district is also offering significant incentives for drivers who stick around for at least 30 days, including a $2,500 cash bonus.

There are currently 20 bus driver vacancies in Indian Land (the town requires at least 50 total drivers to safely transport all their students).

If you or someone you know would like to help fill the need, you can apply here.
