The system is expected to move northward across the southeastern Gulf of Mexico. Those along the northeastern Gulf Coast and surrounding areas are urged to closely monitor its progression. The National Hurricane Center has advised that the system could potentially bring significant impacts, including heavy rain, strong winds, and flooding to these regions.
Should the system take an easterly path, South Carolina and North Carolina, including Charlotte, could experience direct effects as the storm moves inland.
NHS officials are reminding all residents in Atlantic Coast and Gulf states to be prepared for potential future storms.
