The big day is finally here…today bakeries, cafes, and donut factories throughout the Charlotte region will be giving away everyone’s favorite treat in celebration of National Donut Day.
The tradition was originally established in 1938 by the Chicago Salvation Army to honor women who served donuts to soldiers during World War I. The national holiday is traditionally celebrated on the first Friday of June.
