Concord Police Asking For Public’s Help In Finding ATM Skimming Suspect

A credit card skimmer was recently caught on video in Concord, and now, police are asking for the public’s help in identifying him.

According to a press release, “At approximately 8:30 AM on Febmary 3, 2018, an electronic skimming device was located on the State Employees Credit Union ATM located at 60 Raiford Drive in Concord. These devices are used in an attempt to capture financial card inrormat1on from ATM transactions. The investigation revealed that this device was installed on the ATM on February 1, 2018 at approximately 5:46 PM…Anyone that used the State Employees Credit Union ATM at 60 Raiford Drive between the dates and times listed above should check their bank account for any unknown transactions and speak with a representative at the bank.”

Police are now warning people to check every ATM they use in the Charlotte area by pulling on the card reader and the keypad to ensure they have not been tampered with by a skimmer;

Many people are also now investing in data protection strips and RDIF blocking card holders to prevent identity theft and stolen credit card information.
