Charlotte baseball fans’ most beloved mascot just saved Uptown Charlotte.
Yesterday at around noon, a fire erupted around a tree in Romare Bearden Park. Charlotte Knights’ mascot Homer the Dragon was doing a photoshoot in the Knights giftshop when he noticed the blaze.
He ran across the street and used a fire extinguisher to try to slow the blaze until the Charlotte Fire Department arrived.
Firefighters then taught Homer how to use their hose, and then took some shots of him saving the day.
