Charlotte Parents Are Now Buying Bullet-Proof Backpacks After Florida Shooting

After one of the worst school shootings in American history this week in Parkland, Fl, some Charlotte parents are now starting to take measures into their own hands to protect their children with a powerful new invention – bulletproof backpacks.

The gun store Nichols, in Rock Hill, has said that they’ve seen a spike in both bullet-proof backpacks, and bullet-proof backpack inserts over the past few days.

WCNC visited a range to test out one of the backpack inserts that the store sells;

One of the more popular models of bullet-proof backpacks has even completely sold out on Amazon.

There are several of other tested models for both boys and girls that are still in stock.

This past week, CMS Superintendent Dr. Clayton Wilcox requested city and county police officers to increase their patrols on and around CMS campuses, and he also issued a full review of all CMS safety procedures.

What more do you think should be done to protect our children?
