Charlotte Group Mobilizing Residents To Fight For More Park Space As Our City Grows

1035

Expansion of parks and greenways in Mecklenburg County hasn’t kept up with the needs of a rapidly growing population. Land is getting more expensive and scarce with each passing year, which means we could lose opportunities to build a complete greenway network and parks within walking distance for all people.

Join Grow Smart CLT for an evening of storytelling, inspiration, and practical advice from residents who are mobilizing their neighbors to advocate for more parks and greenways.

Speakers to include:

Elaine Powell, Vice-Chair of the Mecklenburg Board of County Commissioners
Rickey Hall, Board Chair of West Boulevard Neighborhood Association
Rick Winiker, Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation Commission
Adrienne Martinez, Board Member of North End Community Coalition
Kinson Desamangles, Resident Volunteer of North End Community Coalition
