Carowinds’ Famous Fury 325 Shut Down as Crews Start Major Foundation Repairs

Carowinds’ signature roller coaster is now closed after a routine inspection uncovered a major issue with the ride’s foundation.

Fury 325 has been out of service since July 7. Now, crews have begun repairs beneath large tents that provide shade from the intense Carolina summer heat.

Since opening in 2015, Fury 325 has become the park’s flagship attraction. The coaster stands 325 feet tall, reaches speeds of 95 mph, and is known for its massive drops, high-speed turns, and smooth ride experience.

The park said the issue did not affect guest safety. Officials described the closure as a precautionary measure and said the repairs reflect the park’s commitment to addressing issues before they impact operations.

Carowinds has not announced a reopening date for Fury 325. With the coaster remaining closed during peak summer season, visitors will have to wait a little longer for one of the park’s most popular attractions to return.
