The issue involves milk powder that may be contaminated with salmonella. The recall follows a larger milk powder recall tied to California Dairies Inc. that has affected multiple brands in recent weeks.
Health officials say salmonella symptoms can include:
- Fever
- Diarrhea
- Nausea
- Vomiting
- Abdominal pain
In rare cases, infections can become severe and spread into the bloodstream.
Young children, elderly adults, and people with weakened immune systems face the highest risk of serious illness.
The recalled products were distributed in states including North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, Florida, Virginia, Texas, and California.
Consumers are advised not to consume affected products and should contact the place of purchase for more information.
