After an incredible 110-96 win over the NY Knicks yesterday, the Charlotte Hornets are heading to the postseason—and they’re bringing it home to the Spectrum Center for the first time in nearly a decade.

It marks the franchise’s first home postseason game since 2016 and the first ever home NBA Play-In game in franchise history.

LaMelo Ball led the Knicks win with 19 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists, while Brandon Miller and Coby White also scored 19 each.

The biggest headline came from rookie Kon Knueppel, who made NBA history by leading the league in total three-pointers with 273. He narrowly beat Ball, who finished with 272.

Knueppel and Ball also became just the second duo in NBA history to each hit 270+ threes in a season, joining Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson.

Charlotte took control early with a 15-4 run to close the first quarter and never looked back. The Hornets also committed just 13 fouls and held New York to eight free-throw attempts.

The win caps a dramatic turnaround. The Hornets finished 44-38 after starting 16-28.

Next, Charlotte hosts the Miami Heat on Tuesday at 7:30 pm for our city’s first ever Play-In game (tickets now available here). The winner advances, while the loser goes home.
