East Charlotte Convenience Store’s Illegal Gambling Machines Seized

According to authorities, the owner of an East Charlotte convenience store by the name of Kilborne Mart has committed multiple Alcohol Beverage Control (ABC) violations due to owning and running four illegal gambling machines from within their store. These machines were later seized by police, alongside over $2,000 in cash.

This all began after the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department received a tip in May 2025 that the store could be committing several gambling violations. After inspecting the property, the 47-year-old owner was told to remove the machines, but it appears he did not comply. A few months passed, and complaints kept coming in to the police, so they carried out another ABC inspection on September 12, 2025. When they discovered the machines were still there, they seized them, along with the cash.

Illegal activity in brick-and-mortar institutions such as this store seems to be on the rise and has led many gamblers to turn to safer online alternatives. This is because legitimate online platforms must follow strict regulations and keep everything above board to ensure their own and their players’ security.

Plus, many of these online platforms also come with additional bonuses. Take the ability to play with SOL tokens as an example. This expert integration of cryptocurrency into online gambling platforms has made them a massive hit with both tech-savvy gamblers and crypto enthusiasts alike.

On top of this, many of the online platforms offering casino games also provide a whole wealth of incredible bonuses and incentives for both new and seasoned players that greatly improve the gaming experience for all.

As well as the increased security of online platforms, many gamblers find themselves turning to these online options due to their increased accessibility. No longer does the casino player need to find and head out to a traditional casino institution to engage with their hobby, but can do so simply by taking out their phone. This is a great option for gamblers who may be short on time or not live close to a brick-and-mortar casino, as a whole world of classic and innovative casino games can be accessed in a matter of seconds.

Of course, just like everything, there are scam casino sites out there as well as platforms that are run illegally. However, it tends to be much easier to verify the legitimacy of an online site than it is to do the same for a physical one. Gamblers just need to know where to look for licensing and how to spot red flags on websites in order to know if they are gambling safely,

On top of this, many of the online casino platforms also have large communities that follow them, as well as dedicated customer service teams, so there’ll be plenty of people to turn to should the gambler have any concerns or queries that need to be addressed before they play.
