Pizza Delivery Man Shoots 3 Suspects In Armed Robbery Attempt In East Charlotte

A pizza delivery man shot 3 people this week during an armed robbery attempt in East Charlotte.

According to police, the incident occurred at around 11:50 pm on January 20th at an apartment complex off Magnolia Hill Dr. While in the process of delivering a pizza to one of the apartments, the victim recalled 4 men approaching him with 1 of them pointing a rifle at his head. He told police that he then pulled out his pistol and fired several shots, hitting 3 of the men.

All 4 men then ran from the scene and the victim called 911.

When CMPD officers arrived, they were able to quickly arrest 2 of the suspects and a 3rd suspect after a short chase. They found the 4th suspect at a hospital after being dropped off with a gunshot wound.

Investigators discovered the assault-style rifle reportedly used in the robbery at the crime scene and determined that it was a toy gun which had been painted to look like a real gun.

The 4 suspects that were positively identified in the robbery include;

20-year-old Nemiah Zante McInnis, who’s now being charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon.

18-year-old Toybyus James Banks, who will be charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon, once he is released from the hospital.

A 16-year-old who is being charged as a juvenile for robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon.

A 15-year-old who is being charged as a juvenile for robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon.
