The Carolina Panthers and Charlotte FC have just announced a multi-year partnership with Whataburger, designating the burger chain as a Proud Partner of both franchises. The collaboration pairs two of Charlotte’s biggest sports teams with a brand rapidly expanding across the Carolinas.
Fans will see the partnership at Bank of America Stadium, where Whataburger will launch in-stadium activations. On September 21, the Whataburger Food Truck will serve complimentary Patty Melts and Prickly Pear Raspberry Whatafreshers before a Panthers game.
The new partnership will also require Whataburger to sponsor the Panthers Girls Flag Football program, support Charlotte FC’s outreach initiatives, and bring mascots Sir Purr and Sir Minty to select restaurants.
“Sports in the Carolinas are all about tradition, passion, and pride—three things that Whataburger fans know a whole lot about,” said Whataburger CMO Scott Hudler in a press release. “This multi-year partnership with both the Panthers and Charlotte FC allows us to deepen our connection, serve fans in new ways, and invest in programs that create real impact for the people of the Carolinas.”
Whataburger has already opened more than a dozen restaurants across the Carolinas over the past two years, with more planned.
