Tropical Storm Dexter? Meteorologists Eying Southeast as System Gains Strength

Meteorologists are closely monitoring a low-pressure system, designated as Invest 93L, which could develop into Tropical Storm Dexter later this week.

The National Hurricane Center said the system, currently moving west across Florida from the Atlantic, has a 40% chance of developing into a tropical depression within the next 48 hours.

Even without further development, the system is expected to bring widespread rainfall across the Southeast.

Southeast Louisiana is already under a flood watch as the storm moves through the Gulf. Forecasters are warning that the Carolinas, including areas around Charlotte, could see locally heavy rain and flash flooding through mid-week.

The National Weather Service continues to monitor changing conditions and advises residents to stay updated on potential flood alerts.
