
This morning a tractor-trailer burst into flames after veering off the road on I-77 southbound, causing major traffic delays.
The accident in northern Mecklenburg County occurred at around 4:30am and required the assistance of multiple fire departments.
The Huntersville Fire tweeted a series of tweets between roughly 4:45am and 6am with a full progression of events at the scene;
Station 1 & Cornelius responding to an MVA, I-77 SB just after Exit 28 involving a Tractor trailer, Use caution in area & YIELD to responding units #MoveOver #CLTtraffic

According to authories, the driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured.
