A major new commercial project is taking shape in Indian Land, as a Keller Williams Commercial–led team moves forward with plans for The Point, a 44-acre mixed-use development that will add roughly 240,000 square feet of retail, office, hotel, and service space just south of Charlotte.

Developers expect to break ground in summer 2026, marking another significant step in the region’s rapid commercial expansion.

A Large, Multi-Tenant Project Near Heavy Growth

Plans for The Point include a 90-room hotel, medical and professional office buildings, restaurants, retail space, self-storage, and a daycare. Several outparcels will be marketed for medical users, neighborhood retail, or small-format offices, reflecting the area’s rising demand for daily services.

The site sits in one of the busiest corridors in Lancaster County. Nearby, the Medical University of South Carolina began construction in September on a major hospital campus at 9258 Charlotte Highway, expected to open in 2027.

A Corridor Already Booming

The announcement adds to a surge of development across Indian Land. Crosland Southeast’s Exchange at Indian Land recently brought new Costco and Lowes Foods stores, alongside apartments, townhomes, and additional retail offerings. The corridor now draws steady traffic from both North Carolina commuters and fast-growing residential neighborhoods in Lancaster County.

According to the project’s listing on RealNex, The Point is positioned to serve thousands of nearby households, including single-family homes, apartments, senior housing, and future medical workforce expansion from the MUSC campus.

Prime Location for New Businesses

Developers describe The Point as a modern, upscale commercial hub designed to attract a wide range of tenants — from gourmet restaurants to medical groups and specialty stores. Its proximity to major retailers like Lowe’s Home Improvement, RedStone, and Edgewater communities further boosts its visibility and customer base.

With Indian Land continuing to grow at one of the fastest rates in the Carolinas, The Point is expected to become a key commercial anchor for the Charlotte-area suburb.

Leasing and purchase opportunities are now available as planning moves into its next phase.
