The Charlotte Fire Department is responding to a structure fire at Charlotte Douglas International Airport.
Heavy smoke was seen coming from the old control tower this morning shortly after 8 am.

Fire officials reported smoke upon arrival, but the fire’s exact location is still unconfirmed.
Fire officials have confirmed that 4 people have made it out of the old tower safely.
