The Rock Hill School District is reorganizing its central office to allocate more resources to classrooms while avoiding layoffs. Superintendent Tommy Schmolze announced the changes, which will take effect at the start of the 2025 school year.
The largest changes in the new plan include eliminating and restructuring district-level positions through attrition.
Key changes include:
- Staffing Shifts: Some personnel will be reassigned from district offices to schools.
- Program Cuts: The Day Treatment Center for mental health support and the district’s Virtual Academy will end.
- Mental Health Therapists: Five therapists will remain employed to support students.
The district says the goal is to prioritize classroom funding while streamlining operations.
