The State of South Carolina just smashed an early voting record yesterday with a total of over 125,000 ballots cast. This almost doubles the previous record of 70,100 set in 2022.
“We are thrilled to see voters embracing the convenience of early voting, and we are anticipating a significant turnout for this election,” said Howie Knapp, Executive Director of the SC State Election Commission (SEC) in a press release.
North Carolina also reported a first-day record of early voters, with 353,000 ballots cast on October 17, emphasizing widespread interest in this election cycle across the region.
The early voting period in South Carolina continues through Saturday, November 2, excluding Sunday, October 27. Check scVOTES.gov for voting locations, or contact your county voter registration office.
