South Carolina House Rep Nancy Mace delivered an emotional speech on the U.S. House floor Monday, accusing her ex-fiancé and others of a slew of sex crimes including physical abuse, non-consensual recordings, and other sexual misconduct allegations.

Mace claimed she came forward because South Carolina’s top prosecutor failed to act despite her bringing the allegations to investigators. Attorney General Alan Wilson, expected to be her opponent in the 2026 governor’s race, denied her claims, calling them “categorically false.”

Mace alleged she uncovered evidence in November 2023 of rape, non-consensual recordings, and exploitation of women and underage girls. She named four men, including her former fiancé Patrick Bryant, who supported her 2022 reelection campaign.

She ended her fiery monologue by saying, “I will burn this system to the ground if I have to…”

Mace, the first woman to graduate from The Citadel, secured a third U.S. House term in November. She is a Trump supporter but briefly criticized him after the January 6, 2021, attack, leading him to endorse a challenger in her 2022 primary. She later won the race and regained his endorsement for 2024.

After her speech, Mace declined further comments but told reporters she was “at peace” with speaking out.
