South Carolina Education Lottery officials are now searching for the winner of a $30,000 Mega Millions prize from this week’s drawing.

The winning ticket was purchased at the Sportman gas station and convenience store at 2810 U.S. 15 in Sumter but has yet to be claimed.

According to a press release, “the winning ticket holder matched four white ball numbers and the gold Megaball® number to win $10,000. Because the player purchased the Megaplier option, their winnings tripled to $30,000”.

The odds of hitting this specific combination are 1 in 931,001, while the odds of winning the Mega Millions jackpot are 1 in 302,575,350.

Lottery officials urge the winner to come forward, as they have 180 days from the drawing date to claim the prize. South Carolina allows winners to remain anonymous, so the lucky ticket holder can choose to keep their identity private.

The convenience store that sold the ticket will receive a commission once the prize is claimed.
