Gaston County police just seized over $500,000 in suspected drug cash hidden inside a trash can during a traffic stop on I-85.
The Gaston County Police Department said its K-9 Unit stopped a tractor-trailer after observing a traffic violation. In a public statement, the department said, “Through strategic coordination and proactive investigations, the Gaston County Police Department remains committed to reducing the prevalence of dangerous drugs and combating criminal activity in our community,”
The investigation remains ongoing. Police said no additional details will be released at this time due to the active case.
