Opera Carolina, the largest professional opera company in the Carolinas, will kick off its 75th anniversary season next month with iconic Italian singer Andrea Bocelli in concert. The one-night event, scheduled for Oct. 30 at the Belk Theater, will also feature the Opera Carolina Chorus, Resident Company artists and the Charlotte Symphony.

“We are thrilled to welcome Andrea Bocelli to the Queen City for what will be an unforgettable night for opera lovers and opera newcomers,” said Dr. Shante Williams, general director of Opera Carolina. “What better way to launch our milestone anniversary season than with one of the opera world’s most recognizable voices?”

Bocelli’s performance in Charlotte is one of two special shows this fall as part of his 2024 North American tour, including songs from his extensive repertoire and a selection of opera arias, his beloved crossover hits and famed love songs. Over his 30-year career, Bocelli has sold nearly 90 million records worldwide and shared his talents at major events such as the Olympic Games, the World Cup and Global Citizen. He has earned a Golden Globe, seven Classical BRITs, seven World Music Awards and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
