A new nationwide study highlights two Carolinas communities as among the wealthiest small towns in America. The study analyzed hundreds of towns with 500 to 1,500 households and ranked the most affluent in each state using income, home values, and livability metrics.

Researchers at GOBankingRates reviewed towns with 500 to 1,500 households using data from the U.S. Census American Community Survey, AreaVibes, and Zillow. Median household incomes among the winners range from $100,000 to nearly $250,000, with average home values reaching up to $4.5 million.

North Carolina’s Richest Small Town: Weddington
