A massive sinkhole appeared in uptown Charlotte on Tuesday afternoon, blocking part of South Cedar Street.
Charlotte Water crews are working hard to restore water service to the 800 block of Cedar Street after a water main break.
“CDOT is putting an emergency closure into our interactive closure map so that WAZE can help motorists navigate around the work at that location,” a spokesperson told WSOC.
Additional repairs are required for a large stormwater pipe and water pipe. Cedar Street will be closed at West Morehead Street until further notice. The sinkhole has affected two lanes of South Cedar Street near West Morehead Street.
