Hallmark is returning to the Biltmore Estate this winter, and local residents now have a chance to be part of the holiday magic on screen.
From Jan. 12 through Feb. 2, Hallmark Media will film its second original movie set at Biltmore, once again turning the iconic estate into a Christmas-time backdrop. This new production will transport viewers back to the Gilded Age, recreating the holiday season as it looked 130 years ago, when Biltmore House first opened on Christmas Eve of 1895.
As expected, the film will center on a romantic storyline and is scheduled to premiere in 2026 during the Hallmark Channel’s 17th annual Countdown to Christmas programming event. The project follows the success of A Biltmore Christmas, which became one of Hallmark’s most popular movies to date.
Filming is planned to take place entirely within a single month, and the production is working closely with local artists and crew. As part of that effort, the casting team is now seeking paid extras from the region.
The Extras Casting Department is hiring people of all ages, from children as young as seven to adults in their 70s. Extras will earn $120 for eight hours of work, with overtime paid after eight hours. Because filming days can run as long as 12 hours, flexible schedules are required.
Those interested in applying should email casting director Marty Cherrix at cherrixcastingnc@gmail.com. The subject line should read “Hallmark.” Applicants must include a recent photo, full name, age, phone number, height, weight, and complete clothing sizes, including shoe size.
Biltmore officials noted that extras will be booked throughout the filming window. Applicants who do not hear back immediately are encouraged to remain patient, as casting will continue through January and into early February.
