A Delta Air Lines flight from New York to Atlanta was forced to make an emergency landing in Charlotte this morning after fumes were reported in the cockpit.

Flight 2286, a Boeing 757, departed John F. Kennedy International Airport at 6:13 am with 112 passengers, two pilots, and six flight attendants on board. It was scheduled to land at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport at 8:24 am, according to Flight Tracker.

While flying near Wilkesboro, the flight crew reported a smoke-like smell in the cockpit. Delta told WCNC that the cabin remained unaffected and that the crew followed standard diversion procedures.

The aircraft landed safely at Charlotte Douglas International Airport at approximately 7:45 am this morning and has since safely unloaded all passengers and crew.
