Charlotte Mayor Vi Lyles will officially file for re-election on Wednesday, July 16 at noon, according to an announcement released Monday.

Lyles, first elected in 2017, is seeking a fifth term in office. During her tenure, Lyles has primarily focused on ongoing initiatives related to housing, infrastructure, and economic development.

“Charlotte is a city of opportunity, and I’m proud of the progress we’ve made,” said Mayor Lyles in a press statement. “From expanding affordable housing to improving public safety and investing in our infrastructure, we are delivering real results. But there is still work to do—and I’m ready to keep doing it.”

The filing will take place at the Mecklenburg County Board of Elections, located at 741 Kenilworth Avenue in Charlotte.
