groninger USA, a global leader in filling and closing machines, has selected Charlotte for its expanded operations. The company will invest $15.1 million and create 60 new jobs in the Steele Creek area.

“Charlotte has been an outstanding home for our North American headquarters, and as our company grows, so does our need for additional space and talented employees,” said groninger USA CEO Philipp Hauser in a press release.

Founded in Crailsheim, Germany, by Horst Groninger, the family-owned company revolutionized manufacturing with its rotary piston pump, enabling precise and hygienic processing of pharmaceutical and cosmetic products. groninger launched U.S. operations in 1997 in New Jersey and relocated to Charlotte in 2007. Its 27,500-square-foot facility near Charlotte Douglas International Airport opened in 2012, handling sales, service, and parts manufacturing for clients in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.

groninger USA partners with UNC Charlotte and Central Piedmont Community College on an engineering apprenticeship program supporting workforce development and economic mobility. The expansion will grow its workforce from 112 to 172 employees over five years, with new positions averaging $76,037 annually.

This project resulted from collaboration between the City of Charlotte, Mecklenburg County, and state agencies. Recent regional economic initiatives have attracted over $455 million in investments and 1,351 jobs, including groninger’s expansion and projects by RXO, Siemens Energy, TTX, and others.
