This past Thursday afternoon, election officials announced that after 3 recounts, Greg Holmes officially won the Clover Mayoral Race by just 1 vote.
After the November 7th election numbers were first counted on Tuesday night, 14-year-incumbent Donnie D. Grice had 427 votes – 1 more than challenger Greg Holmes’ 426 votes. These results triggered an automatic recount as the results were within the margin of error.
The first recount resulted in a tie;

The second recount put Holmes on top 427-426, the third recount then confirmed the second recount’s numbers making Holmes the official winner.
Quite a bit of confusion among the audience and even some board members. But the results are in: Holmes 427, Grice 426. pic.twitter.com/uX7DJtuHHX
