This week’s barrage of storms caused some massive issues at the Charlotte Douglas International Airport. Over 2,000 flights have already been delayed or canceled this week, leading to some extreme reactions for Charlotte travelers.
According to airport traffic data from FlightAware, there were 487 Charlotte Douglas delays on Monday, and 739 delays and 6 cancelations on Tuesday. Wednesday saw 732 delays and 205 cancelations, and there have already been 83 delays and 43 cancelations so far today.
The FAA issued a ground stop on Wednesday due to heavy rain and storms, halting flights for hours. This full ground stop led to the largest amount of outright cancelations for several airlines.
