FC Barcelona Charlotte soccer school copyThe second most valuable sports team in the world, worth $3.16 billion, and the record holder for the most FIFA Club World Cup wins in history is about to open a training facility in our city.

FC Barcelona will be creating an official soccer school in Charlotte this fall.

The new school will be open to boys and girls ranging in age from 6-12 years old.

“The school will not only help local players experience firsthand the best international, professional and developmental soccer pathway, but will also help put Charlotte on the global soccer stage,” commented the school’s co-founder, Marc Segarra in a recent press release. Certain players from the school also have the chance to be selected for an “FCB Experience,” which is a trip to Barcelona to practice and play at the FC Barcelona Ciutat Esportiva.

The first FCBEscola school was started in Miami in 2014 – Charlotte will be it’s second in the US.

This year, international futbol organizers are also planning for record crowds to fill Charlotte during the highly anticipated Inter Milan vs. FC Bayern Munich match that will take place at the Bank of America Stadium on July 30th (more info about that match can be found here).
