St. Patties Day weekend is almost here!

Here are the top 5 must-do activities for the greater Charlotte region this coming weekend;

#1 Free Trees For Charlotteans 

free trees charlotteThe ‘TreesCharlotte’ organization is celebrating an ‘end of season’ tree giveaway to educate people about how to properly care for trees, and to simply increase the amount of trees in the city.

The free event will take place on Saturday, March 19th, 2016, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

In order to receive a free tree, you need to show proof of residency, each household is eligible to receive up to 2 free trees. After a brief informational session, you’ll then be asked to complete and sign a Stewardship Pledge Form and declare your pledge to take care of the tree or trees.

#2 Stroll The Countryside on a Carolina Wine Tour

The weather this weekend will be unbelievably perfect for a wine tour – high 70s and sunny skies!

Within a 60 mile radius around Charlotte, there are over a dozen wineries of all shapes and sizes, including a cat-themed winery that just opened in York County!

Just southeast of Charlotte, you can live out childhood fantasies by enjoying some award-winning wine in a treehouse at The Treehouse Vineyards in Monroe. If you’re in the Lake Norman area, you can enjoy some local art with your wine at The Daveste Winery, or check out the largest family-owned vineard in North Carolina at The Shelton Vineyards.

#3 Rihanna Live At The Time Warner Cable Arena

Pop icon Rihanna is coming to the Time Warner Cable Arena on March 20th for her Anti World Tour.

With sales exceeding 200 million records worldwide, Rihanna is one of the best-selling artists of all time. She was the youngest and fastest solo artist to earn fourteen number-one singles on the Billboard Hot 100, she’s won eight Grammy Awards, eight American Music Awards, and 23 Billboard Music Awards.

#4 Go Green In Uptown Charlotte

Starting at 10am on March 19th, Charlotte will kick off it’s 20th annual St. Patties Day Parade and Charlotte Goes Green Festival. There will be tons of music, food, games, and kids activities. The parade starts at 11am in Uptown, but be sure to get their early – last year it drew over 70,000 people.

#5 St. Patrick’s Day Treasure Hunt

Put your natural knowledge to the test as you follow the Leprechaun’s clues through the woods to find the hidden treasure.

This self-guided treasure hunt requires only a sturdy pair of shoes and your sense of adventure. Meet at the nature center for your first clue and may the luck of the Irish be with you! Drop-ins welcome, activity is ongoing.
