uber expandingUber riders rejoice! You can now catch a ride if you live in the northern suburbs of the Charlotte region.

The revolutionary mobile powered taxi service is expanding from Charlotte to Concord, Cornelius, Davidson and Huntersville, according to a recent press release by the company.

Uber has claimed that its fares in Charlotte are about 57% less than a taxi. They estimate that an uberX ride from Uptown Charlotte to the PNC Pavillion (near Charlotte Motor Speedway) will run about $15 to $21 and from Birkdale Village to Davidson, $9–$12.

Uber originally launched in San Francisco in 2010 and is now available in more than 311 cities and 58 countries, making it one of the fastest growing tech companies of all time.
