We included Bojangles because #1 they have some of the best fast-food fried chicken around and #2 the chain that’s quickly spreading across the country was founded and still has their headquarters right here in the Queen City.

Right at the corner of South and East Blvd, inside of the Shell gas station, you’ll find some of the best fried chicken in Charlotte (at least for a gas station). Some would argue that Nana’s fried chicken actually tops Prices in the class of truly southern, deep-fried chicken, but I would have to disagree – it’s amazing, but not quite the most amazing.

#2 King’s Kitchen

The King’s Kitchen skillet-fries their chicken for a home-made feel with major culinary class. Owner Chef Jim Noble describes his food as being inspired by French cuisine with Southern style, including as many farm-to-table ingredients as possible. The restaurant is also non-profit, helping feed and employ many of the homeless citizens of Charlotte.

#1 Prices Chicken Coop

When family is in town there is only one place to grab fried chicken #prices #clt #cltfood

One of the last remaining cash-only, hole-in-the-wall, family-recipe eateries in Charlotte is Prices Chicken Coop. It’s been featured in dozens of TV shows, magazines, and national articles going back decades, and for good reason – their fried chicken is truly one of a kind.

Ask any Charlotte native (if you can find one) where the best fried chicken in town is – most will emphatically say Prices.
