A Hickory, NC boy just received a personal letter from the President of the United States after he asked for a new kidney for his dad.
Trae Putnam has been living with a rare blood disease that caused complete renal failure. For the past 3 years, he’s been surviving on dialysis and waiting on a donor list for a new kidney.
8-year-old Fore Putnam decided he needed to do something to help, so he sent out 3 different letters this past Christmas, one to Santa Claus, one to Ivanka Trump, and one to President Donald Trump.
This week, a response to one of those letters came back, addressed from the White House;
Dear Fore,
Thank you for sharing your story with me. I am so sorry to hear that your dad is going through a difficult time. It is clear that you care so much for him. I have shared your letter with my staff, and they are working to see what help they can provide.
I can tell that you are a brave young man with a big heart. I admire your determination to make sure your dad has the support and resources he needs to feel better. I hope you know how much joy and encouragement you already bring to him.
Mrs. Trump and I will keep you and your dad in our thoughts and prayers.
